Magaly Passos-Hoke

I am a trauma specialist. I help parents, children, families, and couples who are frustrated, angry, and hurting to heal and connect healthily, rebuilding their relationships to bring harmony to themselves and their families.

My personal and professional life intersect in a unique way. I am from Brazil, and I speak Portuguese, Spanish, and English. I am in a cross-cultural marriage, which has given me firsthand experience of its joys and challenges. As a mother of two boys and a stepmom, I have navigated the complexities of a Neurodiverse Family, which has deepened my understanding and empathy for families facing similar situations.

I am also passionate about training clinicians to excel as professionals and deliver the most effective treatment based on their clients' needs. I serve as an adjunct professor at Wheaton College in Illinois during the summer. I am trained in various modalities because there is no single way to guide clients through their healing process.

As a clinician, I understand the importance of engaging in our therapeutic work to truly comprehend our clients' experiences. This commitment to understanding where our client ends and we begin is a cornerstone of my practice, ensuring a client-centered approach that fosters trust and empathy.

My approach is not just professional, but also deeply personal. It is direct, warm, client-centered, and flexible. I am passionate about studying and learning new ways to help people improve their lives.

This passion drives me to be the best trauma specialist I can be, and I hope it inspires others to believe in the possibility of healing and growth.
